MY CAKELY STORY

How it all began....

Hello!  That's me, Kylie Holt! 

 

I love my family, I love math, I love to dance, and I love sugar.  I've known I've loved all these things all my life. What I DIDN'T know is that my sugar addiction would turn into a passion for turning sugar into ART!

 

It all started with my mom's birthday party a few years ago.  She was turning 50 that year and I wanted to throw an extra-special surprise party for her.  I didn't want that not-so-special-9x13-frost-the-top boring cake anymore. So I did a ton of research, got some help from my AMAZINGLY talented sister-in-law, and WABAM! My first fondant cake. 

 

From that day on, I was hooked!  I eventually went to school at Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts for a year to become an official pastry chef.  I now create custom cakes for all kinds of events including weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, baby showers, and even rainy days!  

The highlight of my cake career so far has been appearing on Cake Wars with my aforementioned-amazingly-talented sister-in-law Heather Clark!  Although our life sized WIlly Wonka didn't win the $10,000, the experience was definitely one in a million!

My Cat in the Hat cake also appeared in Cake Masters Magazine as a runner up in their DecoGel competition!
